Terms & Conditions


When employing Marquiss Home Management (MHM), the Client (you) are agreeing to the following Terms & Conditions.  If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask.


Confidentiality and Privacy

MHM is a personal and confidential service.  Your details will not be disclosed to any third party.

Any photograph, testimonial or comment will be reproduced only with your consent.  


Disclaimer regarding property

MHM provide advice and encouragement to help you decide whether to keep, recycle, sell or dispose of items. You are responsible for any items disposed of in the decluttering process.

MHM are not valuers of art or items of value/rarity.  You may wish to seek independent valuations.

MHM always handle items with care but in case of accidental loss or damage MHM will not be held liable.

MHM may, if requested, take your unwanted items to a charity shop.  Any items removed from your premises will be at your discretion and consent.


Limits of Work

MHM may provide suggestions about storage solutions and help with assembling simple, lightweight flat-packed furniture.  However, moving of heavy furniture or anything more specialist should be left to the experts. 

Should any pest infestations be discovered, MHM will leave the premises immediately and return only when the infestation has been treated successfully.  


Travel and Parking

Travel within a radius of 15 miles of Corsham is free. Travel costs outside of that area will be discussed prior to booking.

Additional expenses such as, but not limited to, toll charges, congestion charges, meter parking, permit parking, etc. will be charged for.

MHM requests that if you live in a residential parking zone you obtain a visitor's pass on behalf of the consultant.



If access is restricted, MHM reserve the right to charge for the lost time and expenses.


Booking deposit

A non-refundable £20 deposit is required to secure a booking.  This is not an extra cost; it is deducted from the session fee.  You can pay the booking fee either in cash or by bank transfer.



In the unlikely event that you cancel and do not re-book within one week, the deposit will be kept. Deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable.  Expenses paid in advance are not refundable.

It is your responsibility to remember session dates and times in order to avoid cancellation fees.  Please check if you’re unsure. 


Payment Terms

Prices and travel costs will be agreed at the initial consultation. 

Payment is due on the day of the session. 

Should you wish to pay by bank transfer, this should be paid before the booked session.  Bank details will be provided upon request. 

Cheques are not accepted. 

Any balance that remains will incur interest at 25% per calendar month.

MHM is not registered for VAT at the present time.

MHM is insured for Public Liability and Professional Indemnity with Westminster Insurance.
